North Platte Community College
Bidding is now open for the 2022 North Platte Community College Foundation Auction House.
Students in the building construction, electrical, and heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC-R) technology programs at the college build a house from the ground up each year to gain hands-on experience of the world real.
The houses are then sold at a silent auction and the proceeds are used to fund scholarships for students in the building trades.
Features of the house:
This year’s three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom home was custom-built to meet high-performance standards. It measures 1,886 square feet and features an open concept in the lobby, living room, dining room, and kitchen.
Pella Lifestyle Series windows offer exceptional energy efficiency, as does the LED lighting installed throughout the home. R46/R38 insulation in the ceilings and R21 insulation in the 6 inch side walls were also installed with energy efficiency in mind.
The rot, termite and mildew resistant LP SmartSide siding comes with a 30-year finish warranty. There is also a 30 year warranty on the shingles.
Some of the aesthetic highlights include:
- A Versetta Stone accent on the front
- Rollex aluminum soffit and fascia
- Arched windows above front triple window and rear French door
- Entryway and sliding lights with Craftsman patterned glass
- A cathedral ceiling in the living room and dining room
- 3/4″ solid hardwood flooring in kitchen, living room, dining room and hallways
- Tawny Raised Panel Hickory Cabinets
- Quartz countertops
- A large walk-in pantry
- A large peninsula with a snack area
- Stained oak trim throughout
- Interior three-panel oak doors
- Carpeted rooms
- A large walk-in closet in the master bedroom
- A spacious main shower with all-ceramic enclosure
- A cloakroom with laundry area and a powder room next to an optional garage
The house is wired for cable and telephones. The buyer will be responsible for the electric meter, the main service disconnector, a water heater, a furnace and any ventilation system with heat or energy recovery.
